
MANCHESTER CITY PUNCHES NAPOLI.
The Etihad stadium at 2200hrs 19th September 2025, was alive with roars and cheers from the joyful spectators. The referee Felix Zwayer stood between the two teams; Manchester City also a champion in the league and SS Napoli the ltalian champions who looked tough and steadfast. Later, Jeremi Doku swirved tactically to score but Napoli’s goalkeeper, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saved resulting to massive roars and cheers from funs. However, Napoli seemed a lot of pressure had been mounted on them. Giovanni Di Lorenzo the Captain, opted covering up and blocking Haaland City’s central striker from making target moves. On the approach, Haaland swung forward to secure his counter but Lorenzo as last man lunged-without contact offensively. The act necessitated the referee Felix Zwayer to consult pitch side monitor (Video Assistant Referee). This resulted to a red-card reducing Napoli 10 men to counter their opponent. On the 21st minute, Manchester City kept mounting on pressure more and more though first half went off with neither of the teams scoring.
Napoli returned to the pitch 2nd half a bit tensed. On the 56th minute, Phil Foden made a flick near goal hence locating Haaland’s position, heading it to the net. These was not an ordinary scored girl but also history. Haaland became fastest player to reach 50 champions league in 49 matches. Napoli looked destroyed to the core but they believed themselves while aligning a stronger defence to avoid more anticipated blunders. Then came the second goal, Jeremi Doku an experienced left winger dribbled past the first and second defenders slotting the ball between goalkeeper, Vanja Milinkovic-Savic scoring on a very perfect angle. The goal bursted the whole stadium of spectators into thunderous cheers spiriting up Manchester City players.
Napoli’s domination went down as opponent punched them twice registering a cleanshit, scoring two goals. As time ticked Napoli’s opponent kept on dribbling with the interest of control and possession till match ends. When referee Felix Zwayer the blewed the final whistle Manchester City didn’t just grabbed a cleanshit win but also a debut champions league performance.
