Have you ever imagined of a life changing chance? Of course yes ,most people have, and they usually dream of it for good reason. We all crave positive changes and the chance to realize our big dreams. But here’s what it is ; chances often come unexpectedly, like surprises in fate scene.
The real challenge isn’t just getting a chance; it’s how we utilize it. Many people receive opportunities, but when luck finally arrives, they sometimes forget what to do with it. A missed opportunity can turn into nothing if not handled with care.
In real sense , “Chance encounters are life changers.”
Let’s consider a simple example. Imagine students studying journalism and Kiswahili at Maasai Mara University. Some are eagerly awaiting internship or attachment placements, while others are recent graduates hoping for opportunities. One day, a media organization hosts an exciting event on campus, inviting all students, current and alumnus, to participate.
During this event, the CEO of the organization offers a great opportunity to six students: three current students and three graduates. They are invited to step in front of a crowd of 3,000 people to pitch what’s happening ,market and promote the organization. This moment is everything we’re discussing.
For some students, it’s a terrifying challenge. Maybe one has never faced a large crowd before, while another struggles with anxiety and fears of inaudibility. But this is their moment to shine. Among the chosen six, one might be worrying about how to secure an internship in the little time left, while another is stressed about finding work after graduation.
Out of the six, four students muster the courage to step forward and face the crowd. They succeed, impressing the organization, which then offers them job opportunities. Meanwhile, the two who hesitated miss out. The lives of those four students are transformed because they seized that chance. One or two could be hired by the big organization, and the others find guidance toward excellent companies for their internships or the attachments . This is the power of chance!
How to Attract Opportunities or Chance
Since chances often come unexpectedly, you can’t just sit around waiting. Here are a few tips to help you attract them ;
Create Connections: People around you hold potential opportunities. Network and build relationships.
Be Eager to Learn: Attend any constructive meetings ,camps, and debates. The more you learn, the more opportunities arise.
Embrace Teamwork: Surround yourself with motivated, dedicated individuals. Together, you can achieve great things.
If you follow these steps, you’ll find that chances will start to follow you.
How to make the Most of or achieve your Opportunity and chance
When opportunities knock, they don’t always do so loudly. Some might even seem humorous or trivial. However, it’s crucial to take every chance seriously. Here’s how to maximize your opportunities:
Be Prepared: Know how you’ll respond when a chance arises. Be bold and clear about what you want to achieve.
Stay Motivated: Encourage yourself. Remind yourself that you want this and go for it with everything you’ve got.
Be Genuine: Efforts must be sincere and focused; half-hearted attempts won’t yield significant results.
