
A Tribute to a Gallant Officer: Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve
On the 2nd of October, 2025, officers from the National Police Service, along with family, friends, and community members, convened in Kyakatolwe village, Machakos County paid their final respects to the late Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve.
In conveying a message of condolence on behalf of the Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, CBS, OGW, SS, Mr. Jackson Kangani, OGW-SAIG, Director of Security Operations APS, extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and commended the late officer for his bravery, describing him as a dependable and committed officer who performed his duties with diligence.
On 30th August 2025, Corporal Mutua tragically lost his life in a road accident while on a peacekeeping mission in Haiti. In his message of condolence, Mr. Aggrey Shamala, AIG Commandant RDU, under whose command Corporal Kennedy served, highlighted the officer’s devotion to duty, bravery, dedication to justice, and selfless service.
Among the senior Officers accompanying Mr. Kangani were Mr. Haron Nthiga, HSC-AIG, Chief of Staff APS; Simon Njenga, CP, Staffing Officer, Security Operations APS; Monica Kimani, CP, County Police Commander Machakos; Gathitu Ndegwa, SSP, County AP Commander Machakos; and Patrick Gaitirira, OGW, SSP- Kalama SCPC.
In attendance were Mr. Edward Githaiga, a representative for the PS Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs; Honourable Francis Mwangangi, Deputy Governor of Machakos County; and the County’s Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Ms. Ritah Ndunge, among others.
