THE GRUESOME MURDER OF TITUS ADUNGOSI AS A HISTORICAL INJUSTICE
The gruesome torture and murder of Titus Adungosi is still fresh in the minds of family, friends and the University of Nairobi comrades at the time. Upto now the matter stands unjustified. Adungosi and P.L.O. Lumumba were both involved with the University of Nairobi, but their histories as student leaders are distinct.Adungosi was a prominent student leader at the University of Nairobi and the chairman of the Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU). He was a third-year architecture design student when he was arrested following the failed coup d’état in August 1982. He was accused of sedition and was sentenced to ten years in prison for his role in a demonstration. Adungosi died in prison in 1987 under mysterious circumstances that remains a puzzle to date.
