A DREADFUL UNREST IN LITEIN BOYS SCHOOL

SCARY UNREST NIGHTMARE IN LITEIN BOYS HIGH SCHOOL
The Litein Boys High School in Bureti constituency in Kericho county closed indefinitely following students unrest on Sunday night 21st September leaving school premises destroyed to the edge. The students overpowered school security leading to destruction of classrooms and vandalisation of school’s building and setting it ablaze. The chaos is believed to began at 9:00 p.m when students complained of poorly cooked rice and served as dinner. However, the situation later escalated as students hurled stones anyhowly breaking windows.
Later, the police were called in to intervene and calm down the situation from Litein Police Station. Teargas canisters were deployed to disperse students trying to break-out from school.
Confirming the incident, Litein OCPD Benedict Chirchir said the police tried their level best to calm down the chaos, but assured of further investigations.
